A comedy about a dysfunctional family (Married... with Children) ( Which Aired for 11 seasons ) A variety series (The Tracey Ullman Show). Which spawned the longest-running sitcom and animated series in U.S. history

5th April 1936 : Two small towns in Tupelo, Mississippi and Gainesville, Georgia are devastated by tornadoes, killing 200 people in one of the deadliest spates of tornadoes in United States history. A total of 466 people were killed over four days of nearly continuous twisters. Another 3,500 people were injured

5th April 1951 : At the end of the trial against the Rosenberg's for giving the secrets to the Atomic Bomb to the Soviet Union, death sentences are imposed against Julius and Ethel Rosenberg when found guilty of conspiring to transmit atomic secrets to the Soviet Union

5th April 1970 : West Germany's Count Karl von Spreti the ambassador to Guatemala is kidnapped and shot dead.

5th April 1976 : One of the world's richest men, eccentric American billionaire Howard Hughes dies at the age of 70. He had spent the last 20 years living as a recluse in hotel penthouses around the world

5th April 1988 : The hijackers of a Kuwait Airways jumbo jet have released 24 women passengers and one man with a heart condition after landing in Iran.

5th April 2001 : A Dutch lorry driver is sentenced to 14 years in prison for his part in the deaths of 58 Chinese illegal immigrants found during a routine search at Dover Ferry Port Last June.

5th April 2008 : Charlton Heston, who won an Oscar for his starring role in Ben-Hur, has died. He was aged 84. Heston died at his home in Beverly Hills. His wife Lydia, whom he married in 1944, was at his side. Heston has played Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in Hollywood movies of the 1950's and 1960's.

5th April 2010 : The Department of Transportation has asked Toyota to pay a fine of $16.4m for withholding information on faulty accelerator pedals. The Department has said that the company had failed to notify it about the flaws 'in a timely way.' The National Highways Traffic Safety Administration has said that documents provided by Toyota have shown that the carmaker knew about the defect in September 2009. It was reports of problems with the pedals that prompted the recall that took place in January. Toyota will have two weeks to appeal against the penalty. Under federal regulations, automakers are required to inform the agency within five days of determining that a safety defect exists

5th April 2010 : Coordinated bombings by Taliban militants at the U.S. consulate in Peshawar and at a ruling party rally in the Pakistani North-West Frontier Province kills fifty people and injures one hundred.

6th April 1994 : The presidents of the African states of Rwanda and Burundi have been killed in a plane crash near the Rwandan capital, Kigali. Both countries have seen ethnic violence between Hutu’s and the minority Tutsis has cost the lives of over 100,000 in the last 12 months and many believe the deaths of the presidents will only escalate the problems. ( Between April and June the Rwandan military and Hutu civilians massacred nearly 1 Million Tutsis and moderate Hutus in one of the worst cases of ethnic cleansing ever.

6th April 1896 The Olympic Games, are reborn in Athens 1,500 years after being banned by Roman Emperor Theodosius I

Curfews have put in place around the country and National Guard Soldiers have been mobilized to keep control. The death toll from arson attacks is 19 and the looting and shooting continue. The cities worst affected include Chicago, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Detroit and at another 75 cities around the country

6th April , 2009 : The 5.8 on the Richter scale L’Aquila earthquake ( central Italy ) leaves 307 dead and approximately 1,500 people injured. The Quake caused up to 10,000 buildings in L’Aquila damage. Many of the medieval churches and other buildings that are an important part of the history of the area were badly effected including the Basilica of Saint Bernardino of Siena. The earthquake left over 40,000 homeless which many believe was due to Poor building standards or construction materials

6th April, 2011 : Sweden’s Queen Silvia was injured when she tried to evade a photographer while visiting New York. The sixty-seven year old queen twisted her foot and was fitted with a foot brace and cane after the incident occurred. While she was shopping with her daughter Princess Madeleine, a Swedish photographer confronted them, and in the midst of trying to get away she injured herself.

A solar eclipse is when the moon gets between the earth and the sun during it's orbit. Austin in Texas had the closest to a full eclipse with 93% of the sun covered at 3.16 PM followed by Tallahassee in Florida at 6.22 PM .

But LKK Easter is not celebrated on a fixed date.. Its celebrated on a Sunday following full moon in between 22 March and 25 April.

8th April 2010 : Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, have signed a nuclear arms treaty in Prague. The treaty will commit the former Cold War enemies to reduce their number of deployed strategic warheads to 1,550. A reduction of 30%. The signing will be taking place in Prague Castle, and will have to be ratified by lawmakers of both countries. The treaty will replace the now expired Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) of 1991.

8th April 2010 : The death toll and flooding increase with more than 200 dead and tens of thousands of shanty homes in the favelas / slum Areas in the State of Rio de Janeiro, the worst effected in Morro do Bumba, The shanty towns are built on the hillsides above downtowns and as the rains have increased they have been worst effected because many are temporary structures which can not withstand the mud slides caused by excessive rain.
