i'll probably make a more detailed reply later but, have you guys considered the ppssobility that adam and eve could be symbolic?
i'll try to write in light of Qur'an.....
as regards complexion....
they were probably of the complexion of regular semites...that is wheatish or any one of the shade of brown....as was also Jesus.
Well it is my understanding that God created Adam and Eve in His image.....so I guess the next question you can ask yourself is what race is God.....
In Islam, Allah or The God has no image: thats one of the first things muslims are asked to beleive in.
In the QUr'an a word is used which scholars of arabic and other languages such as aramiac, syriac etc.. belive hasnt been used b4. That word is "bashar" which is generically translated as human. However the proper word for Human is "insaan" in arabic. And the use of the word bashar doesnt appear before Qur'an. Scholars beleive that the word "bashr" implies humanoid.
We know that the man as we know today is classified as homo sapien sapien. However there have been other species of humanoids such as homo sapien neanderthal, homo erectus etc... All these folks are humanoids and it is parallel to them that modern humans have descended. Modern humans have properties of mind that many other humanoids didnt have. The rest all lived as part of nature: with mammalian intelligent yet innocent. We (homo spiens sapien) have learnt deceit, we have a desire to conquer, we have a desire to subjugate nature, explore more and more...and we are arrogant. There is no other animal in the World or ever has been since the dawn of creation like man (ashraf-ul-makhlooqat).
In the Quran, the part where Allah orders hazrat Adam and hawa (eve) to abandon paradise and enter the World (for tasting the forbidden fruit of knowledge), the verse translated roughly into proper english would be and Insha'Allah hope I'm correct:
"Now it is time for "all" of you to desert heaven" (I havnt written the exact translation, just the rounabout for what I remember)
Note the plural "all"
That verse could imply the dawn of humanity...the dawn of the homo sapien sapien....the singular specie the world has known....a specie which has learned to deceit, conquer, subjugate, philosphisize and hurt others verballly etc...
...the loss of innocence...the innocence of Adam and eve.
Anyhow this is my personal opinion. I'm aware that Muslims as such have never had any problem with evolution and all non-secular Islamic countries evolution is taught as part of the curriculum.

Correct me if I am wrong.. but wasn;t all knowledge given to Adam.. and then the angels were told to ask Adam questions..
So if all knowledge was given to Adam... how can he eat the forbidden fruit of Knowledge.. as all knowledge was already given to him so there was no other knowledge which could be given to adam.
The question arises whether Adam was made of flesh in Heaven.. and if not.. was it the desire of Adam to be made of material resulted in expulsion to the material world of this Universe.

Where in Quran is it that Adam was 90 feet tall? I havnt come across that ayat yet...
When Allah created hazrat Adam, he didnt tell the angels to interview him. Allah said that this being is superior to any other I have created hence bow infront of him for I have imparted knowledge to this being which I havnt to others. That "imparting" is the inquisitiveness and the haughtiness of mankind.
Eating the forbidden fruit may imply the point of departure of human beings from other humanoids. What I am saying is that perhaps "adam" signifies the first human being who developed a conscience and a evolved sense of self, morality, and shame. We know that b4 both hazrat adam and amma hawwa used to be unclothed (hence innocent, clean of the sense of sexual libidio and desire so profiundly found in humans) and after tasting the fruit of life, they became self conscience of their difference and they ran to hide themselves and their chastity etc...
According to Allah man is made from earth...the elements found inside the earth. We know life started from water as per Quran. Hence there isnt any puzzle as to the composition of adam and eve. They were both humans---> just like us in composition.

In Quran it is mentioned - adam was a cubit tall - a cubit is approx 90 feet.
also there is the long life of the prophets - with Hazrat Nuh being 900 years old.. not sure whether it is mentioned in Quran
still have not found any explanation of that.

Well, as far as my knowledge goes, no where in the Quran a cubit or any measurement is present. Id appreciatye if you could post tha ayah.
For Hazrat Nooh being 900 years old, I'm aware of that fact. He was 900 years old according to the Quran.
WHat I have said in my previous posts, are my interpretations about the ayahs of Quran.
Just like Maurice Bucaille after he converted quoted the ayah from the Quran that He (the God) has created curtains between the oceans so that the properties of one dont go into the other and as the latest navigation of the seas did infact reveal that properties of various oceans are exclusive to them, I too have applied conjectures...
