i think its very polite. too bad formalities and politeness is taken as rude and aloof by the masses now.
chivalry is dead..well almost.
PS: one exception is if someone pouts miss i front of the namesa of gentlemen, or of ladies who have other titles such as baroness, mrs, dr, etc
