Title after the marriage?

Re: Title after the marriage?

I know at least in the U.S., immigration people are or can be picky. Its important to have all details in your application correct so that the process is not delayed due to any confusion. Your Pakistani passport may state that your husband is X but that does not change YOUR legal name. Don’t make the situation confusing/difficult for yourself or anyone else reviewing these immigration documents (some of them can be total idiots). Whatever your full name is on your legal ID, use that on your immigration papers. Make sure your name on all documents match so no one has to spend time trying to figure out why all of a sudden there is a new last name that’s not on your birth certificate, driver’s license, passport etc.

And if you really want to use your husband’s last name as your last name on immigration papers, then go change your name legally and THEN fill out the immigration papers.
