Now, a minor mishap should not be a reason to avoid the tip. But the fact that this person came after them for more was even worse and they should not have paid him any more… They should have let the owner/manager know about it.
Remember, most places do know customer is always right however customers should also be polite.
Not all places require 15%-20% tip by the way. Depends on the place and environment.
