Could can use in two ways…

I could go to shopping… main shopping karny ja sakta hon… jaisay koi possibility bata raha ho.. I could do this for you…

I couldn’t complete my work… main apna kaam nahi complete kar sakta tha…

dono main context ko dekh kar hi meaning ka pata chal sakta hai..

Can is first form of verb and could is second form of verb.
I could go to shopping is simple past
Me shopping krny ja skta tha

Me shopping krny ja skta hun is simple present
I can go to shopping

Situation par depend karta hia...

Can and Could both are modal verb....and could is past of can...

par could ko possibilities main bhi use kartay hian...

kisi bhi language expert say poch lo....mager possibility kahny kay liye situation aur context bhi ho... warna jo tum kah rahi ho... woh past lagay ga..
