There is a misconception. Snow leopard numbers have probably not decreased much at all. They have always been rare and elusive and theri territory is wide ranging and in the summer rarely ever comes in contact with man.
Khunjerab National Park in Gilgit has one of the highest densities of Snow leopard in the world.
