Three US soldiers killed in Karbala, others attacked in Kirkuk

Be it in the Shia south, the Kurdish north or the-so called “Sunni triangle” it is American troops that are increasingly being attacked.

**Soldiers Killed, 7 Hurt in Iraq Fight **

Three American soldiers were killed and seven were wounded in a midnight clash at a Shiite Muslim cleric’s headquarters in this shrine city, the U.S. military said Friday. Witnesses said at least eight Iraqis also died in the fighting. The U.S. troops, who were not identified pending notification of relatives, were members of the 101st Airborne Division, Maj. Mike Escudie of U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Fla. said in a statement. The statement also said two Iraqi security forces personnel were killed and five wounded in the attack near Imam Abbas Mosque in Karbala, 50 miles south of Baghdad

So whats the total count so far since operation O.I.L. (Operation Iraqi Liberation (CNN copyright) for those who dont know  ) ended?

About ~250 combat deaths, ~150 non-combat death including ~15 suicides and about ~15 000 injured depending on who believe (limbs and organs missing etc) and ~4000 flown home due to mental fatigue (dissent/being plain scared). Quiet a few have also gone AWOL, through Turkey/Kuwait/Jordan etc.

Out of the ones left 50% don’t know what they're doing and why and the remaining 50% don't leave the compound for fear of getting a rose petal thrown at them.

Damn, only 3?

Chota are those total US figures - the 400 dead. Thats like 3 a day or something dying....not a bad ratio...if only the Hamas etc would learn.

And it is only the American's (and their British stooges) that are attacked it seems? To date I don't think we have have heard of any attacks on the Micronesian, Mongolian or Honduran troops there?

Madhanee i believe Americans call it freedom of speech. If i feel something is wrong i call it. You can do the same. The US is following the Roman Empire. PM when you figure out this reference, and no i am not predicting its down fall.

Are they still sending those letters in support of war ?

They have to keep their public brainwashed.

better die than surrender...

if also "they" had believed in it...

It was actually four US soldiers that were killed a couple of days ago, and now two more US soldiers have been killed in Kurdish Northern Iraq, as US military vehicles are set alight in Fallujah.

Two US soldiers have been killed and one injured in an ambush in northern Iraq, the US military has said.](BBC NEWS | Middle East | US troops under fire in Iraq)

I guess slow and steady does win the race, but personally i am a big fan of "shock and awe".
