The story turned out to be a lie. No surprise there from the BJP then.

**Pakistan denies reports of demolition of Krishna temple **

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has denied reports that the Krishna Mandir in Lahore had been demolished to pave the way for the construction of a shopping mall.
Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq rejected BJP leader L.K. Advani’s statement on the demolition and challenged his remarks that minorities in Pakistan did not have religious freedom.

“Perfect condition”

``The Krishna Mandir is in perfect condition. I invite L.K. Advani to visit Lahore and pray at the temple," Daily Times quoted Mr. Haq as telling reporters on Thursday during a visit to the temple.

He said Rs. 7,00,000 was spent on the renovation of the temple a few months ago, adding that such statements by Indian leaders could affect the ongoing peace process between the two countries.

Supports statement

Krishna Mandir supervisor Pandit Kashi Ram, who was with the minister, supported Mr. Haq’s statement and said the government was spending money on the temple’s renovation.

He added that the government gave Rs. 10,000 for holy festivals including Diwali, Dusshera and Holi observed at the temple.

Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) chairman Lt Gen (Retd.) Zulfikar Ali Khan also said the temple had not been demolished.

Lol, read the post of Afridi. It was just your beloved extremist BJP's propaganda to hide their terrorism acts.

Just last month a Mosque was demolished in India, where few Muslims were killed too. When asked for help, the Police told them to go to Pakistan for help!

LAHORE: More than 2,000 Indian Sikhs who came to Pakistan to take part in the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Guru Arjun Dev Jee’s martyrdom, embarked homeward by special trains, while a 27 member Sikh delegation crossed the Wagah border on foot on Wednesday. Around 1,000 pilgrims had already left for India via the Samjhota Express on Tuesday.

The pilgrims, especially the older men and women, were visibly distressed at the prospect of having to leave and there were moving scenes at their respective points of departure. Through their tears, they confessed to having developed an attachment to Pakistan. The pilgrims, who came from India, UK, the United States, Germany, Canada and France, among other countries, arrived on June 13.

Senior Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) officials and office bearers of the Sharomani Gurdwara Perbandak Committee (SGPC) Pakistan were present at the Lahore Railway Station on Wednesday morning to see off the delegations, which were led by Baba Taake Singh and Raghbir Singh. The pilgrims visited several historical and religious places including the Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore, the Gurdwara Janam Asthan and Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassan Abdal.

The leaders of both delegations praised the EPTB and SGPC’s efforts in facilitating their stay and appreciated the care with which the authorities had maintained the Gurdwara and other Sikh holy places. They also expressed their gratitude to the government of Pakistan, which had issued special postal stamps bearing a picture of the tomb of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh to commemorate the occasion, as well as setting up special food stalls at the Minar-e-Pakistan. Baba Taake Singh hailed the government’s initiative to in increasing the number of visas for Sikh pilgrims and said that such measures would go a long way in promoting people to people contact among Sikhs and Pakistanis.
