I lived as a paying guest with a Pakistani family for a year . They were responsible for everything , food , laundry , cleaning the room. They treated me as a family member and I treated them as my family. We had no issue we had nothing for each other but respect.

I had few roommates, never had problem with any of them. The reason was, i knew them or they were frnds of my frnds. I knew they all eat halal so there is no problem of sharing food. I minded my own business for the most part, kept friendly relationship, payed my dues before they asked me for it.
