This is not the Pakistan team I knew

Re: This is not the Pakistan team I knew

I was writing from recollection. But you are right. Miandad was captain. This is the match.

Re: This is not the Pakistan team I knew

Could not agree more. The reason we were so unpredictable in earlier days is because we were relying on individual brilliance of world class players like Wasim Waqar, Saeed but now we are relying more on team work rather than individual brilliance.

Great work Faisal

Re: This is not the Pakistan team I knew

Rameez Raja c Gavaskar b Kapil Dev 29 71 1 0  waisay very good by his own standard. (same 85 match v India)

Very well written article, indeed this is not the team we knew.

Boycott very reluctantly said yestarday that Team Pakistan is also front runner for upcomping worldcup along with England, India n Australia

But I have do doubt that this team is serious runner for the WC 07

Re: This is not the Pakistan team I knew

Pakistan team isn't consistent enough. Yes, it builds a moral for a young team but I think you have to look how many good teams Pakistan have beaten under Bob Woolmer. For me, it still comes down to Australia, South Africa and New Zealand alike. I wouldn't put Pakistan above those three teams. Not yet...just not yet, howevr, it's a refreshing start and everyone seems to be accountable.

Re: This is not the Pakistan team I knew

as shoaib has clearly explained, prayers (namaz) have helped them play like a united team....

saeed anwar has really had a huge impact on the morale of the team....

and those who deny it, deny it only cuz they never want Islam to take credit for anything....

but if someone like shoaib can come out and admit it openly that it is due to namaz that he sees a change in the team, then surely it has some ground to it....
