Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

West Indies collapse or on the verge to again.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

At the end of rain curtailed 2nd day WI 420/5.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

530/5 this is going to be another draw.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

WI 581 all out.
India 150/2

End of day 3.

Heading for a boring draw.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

India in trouble with 9 down for 356.
The last pair of Harbajhan and Patel puttung up a fight to save the follow-on. So far the pair has added 41 valuable runs in 11 over.
With more than 40 overs to go today, and 1 whole day of play tommorw, India will be in trouble in case of the follow-on

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

India 219 all out.

Will WI enforce the follow on and go for the kill??

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

WI didn’t enforce the follow on.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

What a stupid decision by Windies :smack:

Now they will play unnecessarily for few extra overs before declaration just to give a safe target to India for the final innings. With so little time remaining in the test match such wastage of overs can become crucial in the end.

They should have enforced the follow on, hoping to dismiss India around 300-350 around tea time on the final day, and then chasing a target of around 100 runs.

Probably Lara wanted to watch Portugal Netherland match.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

What is this goin on with the WI....First they play pathetically slow on the day when they shud have been attacking...and now they dont enforce the followon when it was an OBVIOUS decision...
Im wondering if there is some jhol goin on with the match..>Is Lara trying to prove a point against the selectors or is there some match fixing involved???

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Play held up as the ball is lost!

10.3Kumble to Lara, SIX, take that! creamed over long-off. tossed up outside the off stump, on a length, Lara put his right foot out, leaned forward and down came his bat crashing down at a rapid pace and it went through the line of the ball, sending the cherry flying over long-off, out of the ground.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Atleast Lara is going for attack...somethin interestin in this boring match!

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Lara gone. WI 88/3.

Lara shoudl go to the hospital and get his brain examined.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

^HAHAHAHAHA :omg:

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Close of play WI 113/4.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

The doctors would then have to send him home, since they would be unable to find the darn thing with the naked eye (maybe if they use the microscope......)

But yes, this is poor cricket all around. I say West Indies should declare and throw the bone to India to chase the target tomorrow, full 90 overs. No overs in the morning should be wasted to reach a "defendable" total. 332 is already mighty defendable as it is.

But given the lack of grey mater in Lara's tiny microscopic brain cells, I sense that even round-about 400 would not prove to be worthy.

On a softer note (well, not that soft), I wonder what that maali Atkinson would have to say about this pitch, since he is the one who inspected and supervised it in the first place.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Damn, these Windies don't deserve to win. Some shocking strategies displayed in this game. According to Lara, "we first should learn how to draw games". LMAO.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

After Lara urged his teammates to show some “character” two weeks ago (straight after that unusual incident with Dhoni), this was a given, really.

Learning how to “draw games”? Nothing but a stab in the face of WICB for not living upto their expectations.

I will gladly wait for Atkinson’s last farewell words on the condition of this much-hyped FAST AND BOUNCY pitch before he is promoted to his next position - supervisor of all maalis across the globe.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

I was just about to ask as to why Kumble has been introduced into the attack to start off the proceedings, when......

......Kumble to Bravo, out Caught by Sreesanth!! just outside the leg stump and Bravo gets forward to loft it over to long on, straight to Sreesanth!

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

Lara finally decided to throw the bone in India's courtyard - 392 is the target!

This is not going to be pretty.

Re: Third Test: WI v India at Basseterre

If Sehwag makes a quick 100 than India may have a chance but I doubt Dravid will go for the kill.
