Some of the ideas shared in this thread are so metrosexual ke al-amaan-o-al-hafeez. I guess they work on some guys, but I am very sure (hopefully) they won’t work on most others, Alhamdollilah. Whats with spas and massages…? Ewww… Creepy!

Please enlighten us as to what are some things that would make the husband/significant other happy?

Getting “physical” is an obvious thing and every married couple does it so it shouldn’t be mentioned here. And if there is a guy out there who only needs THAT then they’re assholes and selfish. Food and sex aren’t the only things…they’re too typical and everyone would like it.

sadiah there is no answer. every man is different. i like water sports, guitars and cricket. anything to do with those would make me very happy. what does ur man like? if he likes watching cricket get him dvds of his fav matches. watersports then get him rentals. getaways from anything normal are nice and more memorable.

if you want to buy something try getting something personalized. something you made... try not to give something typical like a cologne or a tie. they are so forgettable. the best gift i got a long time ago was a light house that a girl drew and then sew on a piece of cloth. she went through the effort of framing it and even after 8 yrs i keep it in my office.

Your husband is a man, not a woman! Men do not "LIKE", they "NEED" the following, not necessarily in the same order:

1. Sleep
2. Eat
3. Sex
4. Golf (or any other relaxing activity away from it all)

We like our needs met! Think around the above four points. Your husband does not like what you think he likes. Wake up and smell the coffee.

One of the posters said something about a quickie. You go girl. Your husband is a lucky man.

One of the post was about spa or what not... hai Allah! Even if he says that he likes it, he probably does not and says this to make you happy.

One of the post was about the brunch together. Not TRUE. I am quite certain your hubby is doing that only to please you.

Any man who is saying otherwise, is probably not married or playing you.

^ i agree. Men are basic creatures with basic needs. Fulfil them and he'll be very happy. If u want to be extra-creative, just make the sex creative - he'll be verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry haaaaaaaapppppppppyyy :D

guys are not materialistic as girls are we don’t need gifts, cards, dresses but someone who care about us and our basic needs. we all know what basic needs are.

most people have mentioned some obvious ones.....food, sex, dressing up for him etc.

i agree men wouldnt like a spa treatment.....i think its too girly/gayish.....give a massage urself when he has had a tiring day....or let him give you one if he insists.

also i think he would appreciate it if a girl trys to understand him...and avoid arguing with him. you know alot of times he wont do things on time and will often tend to 4get things.....try and be a little patient with him (as u may have noticed ur brothers are the same too!)

anything romantic would work...

my one says when he takes me out to the shops, he would like it if i spend all his money......i dont know why he says that. is this true for other guys too?

thats not a nice thing to say.....he always answers my phone no matter where he is....and always makes time to talk to me -doesnt matter how busy he is....and he says he feels relaxed after talking to me...and i feel the same too......so why would u say he needs a time off....i think if u really love someone, you wouldnt feel this way :)
