things to do at a conservative wedding

Re: things to do at a conservative wedding

Thanks everyone, I love most of the ideas so far :-)
Subbo, I love how you put it bluntly, k farq huna chahiye shaadi or mehla mai haha. Too true!
So I am settled on having a little program with my little nieces and cousins where they can sing naat and recite some small Surahs. For about half an hour.
Speeeechheeess---I think it'd be kinda embarrasing in front of so many people, but sweet nonetheless. So perhaps.
Slideshow--- Hmm....yeah I'm sure it'll need an element of surpise to it...I'll throw the idea out to my brothers and maybe they'll remember it later on, and perhaps I'll forget about it!
Most of all thanks everyone for the support :-) I am now really comfortable with just a eat, meet, and greet kind of wedding without the music and dancing, seriously :-) It's just never been done before in our family, and I haven't been to other weddings. Thanks again!

haha that would be so awesome!

^ That happened at my cousin's mehndi (after the bride's side had left). All the guys were throwing full jugs of ice cold water over him and each other.

Everyone is right in saying that it shouldn't be a mela, but providing you don' do everything mentioned above and just stick to one or 2 things that fit with your theme, I think it can give the wedding a unique edge.

I've always wondered whether a choc fountain is a good idea, what about the kids - they'd run riot! Plus I wouldn't want to be stuck on a stage whilst everyone else is enjoying a chocolate founatin.
