My Iraqi friend who’s a journalist says that the majority of the Iraqis are greatful for the US presence. He has experienced life under the rule of Saddam Hussein, and even if the US military is the lesser of the two evils, the invasion has been a blessing for most Iraqis. Most of the killings are being conducted by separitist groups and militias.

the word “Iraqis” is misleading. you are referring to the Shias and Kurds. while they are a clear majority of the population…when others disagree, they reference Sunni sentiments.

it creates the illusion of contradiction and inaccurate statements…when it is really just an issue of identifying the Iraqis as one of the 3 distinct communities.
