Well you should have asked how do scholars of Hadith interpert this hadith.
Imam al-Bayhaqiy who was among the greatest of the Mujtahids of the Khalaf scholars said: "This hadith is Mud-Tarib (week), and if it was confirmed it would have meant that the Prophet is asking her what her belief in Allah is? and she said "Fis-Sama'' which indicates that her belief is that Allah is greatly high in status, then the Prophet said to her owner set her free, she's a believer".
al-Bayhaqiy also added ".. because in Islam for one to be judged as a Muslim or not, he must believe in the shahadatayn.."
al-Bayhaqiy said that because there's another narration by Imam Malik that the prophet asked her " what is your belief in Allah? the slave women answered I bear witness that no one is God but Allah, Muhammad is his messenger, the Prophet then said to her owner set her free, she's Muslimah".
This hadith has 5 narrations, and the narration of Malik is the strongest.
Not only Imam al-Bayhaqiy explained this hadith, many other scholars have showed the meaning of the sayings of the Prophet by explaining one narration by another narration.
In summary, the point is Arabic is Rich. Al-Bayhaqiy said if that hadith was authentic (sahih) it would have meant “what is your belief in God” she indicated “God is of a great rank”.
