Ok so you are doing residency in Neuro surgery right now? Its shocking because in the first picture you said four years ago before starting college. So you finished college, finished med school, started your residency in general surgery, finished that and went into speciality in four year period.
Dude I wish I was that smart. Its been 7 years since i started college and I am still a 4th year med student.

I graduated at 16 as valedictorian of
my senior class and second in rank among all high school
seniors in my state. Went to school for three years and
got into pharmacy school at 20. The one I went to had a
condensed 3 year program. After 6 months in pharmacy school
and working at a local pharmacy decided I didn't want to be
a pill counter for the rest of my life. Got out of there to much
dismay and anger of my family and close friends. Got into
a medical school in Eastern Europe and worked my butt off
and got out of there in 4 and a half years instead of five.
No partying, no friends, no hanging out. Just school to apartment ~
apartment to school. Got out of there in 4 1/2 years and now
couple of months ago returned to US to do residency here.
The first pic was from the first year I got into Med school in
EE. Don't under estimate others. Just because it takes you
7 years doesn't mean that's the route everybody else takes.

So how was this experience of switching fields?Do you now feel you made a right decision at a right time? Does being a doctor satisfy you?
I always found neurosurgery a bit boring :) I hope its not the case with you.So do you need high scores to get into neurosurgery residency in US? I always thought it was obs/gynae which needed the highest ones.

kashish, I also like to think that I've matured since
the first pic. That was before the reality of med school
had fully settled in. The experience of switching fields
in terms of family and friends was rough. I think a lot of
people thought I was dropping it for something like MBA
or sorts. Actually working at a pharmacy really opened
my eyes as to how bored I would be personally just
working at a pharmacy, I felt limited. Getting into a
med school so fast and that too in another continent was pretty
hard, specially in terms of relationships. The fact that I was
doing nothing BUT studying didn't make things any better.
I like to stay local with family and friends. But in the long
run switching to med was a right decision and more
challenging definitely regardless of how gruesome and
time consuming it is :D. I like how thorough the program is
covering evrything from neuro oncology stereotactic radiosurgery
to neuropathology to neuroradiology interventional radiology.
I really do wonder what the hands on experience would have been
like in Eastern Europe. As far as getting in, where I'm at
you need atleast a 3.9 GPA to get in, that's minimum.
