Narrated Anas bin Malik (Radi-Allahu 'anhum): Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) never proceeded (for theprayer) on the Day of 'Id-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates.
Anas also narrated: The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) used to eat odd numberof dates. Bukhari Vol. 2 : No. 73
So eat odd number of dates before proceeding to Eid prayer inshallah
