The Unlucky Humayun

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

:emmy: DA say something about serious Humayun before leaving this thread :asa:

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

Humayon saw Hameeda begam in Sindh, there they got married and Mughl e Azam Akbar was born. At first Hameeda Begum rejected Humayun's offer not because of the age difference (she was 14 and Humayun 33), but for different reasons.

Some writers says that it was due to Humayun's then situation. Others says that Hameeda Begum and Hindal Mirza (Humayun's brother) were involved with each other, therefore, they both oppose the proposal vehemently.

Humayun's sister in her book Humayun nama (written in Akbar's period on his special request) says that Hindal considered Hameeda Begum like her sister and didn't want the marriage between Humayun and Hameeda because of any problem in their marriage causing relationship between brothers bitter.

It was Dildaar begum (mother of Hindal) who convinced Hameeda Begum after 40 days of the proposal by saying 'You have to marry with anyone, so why not a king'. A king that was taking refuge at that time :D

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

Was that the basis of his deen e Illahi?

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

Yes these are interlinked, but if we see the concept it didn't necessarily require introduction of a new religion. It was due to Akbar's nauratans who made him believe that he is someone special like prophets.

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

My relative who was on visit was also telling that motorway police is very strict in observing the rules:) and it is one of the modern marvel of Pakistan:k:

It should have been even better if DNA would have matched Chacha Nehru:)

If idea of god fails it is called cult and if succeeds it becomes a sect or religion:). Akbar wanted to be new prophet of new religion Din-i-illahi, which contained worshipping fire and light along with believing in one monotheistic god:). Because he was Shenshah no one objected him except Ulema whom he never cared about:)

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

:rotfl:

Gulbadan begum wrote ‘Humayon Nama’ not as an independent writer, but as a sister hiding all the vices of Humayun. Although she mentioned Hameeda Begum in her incomplete book, but I didn’t find her mentioning Humayun’s interest in women.

One more thing Hameeda Begum didn’t seem to be his first wife, because how could he be single until 33 years, when he met Hameeda Bano. But again Akbar is his eldest son (crown prince), so that made the theory of his extra interest in women some what doubtful.

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

Motorway is good but personally I like to drive on Gt road :) maybe old school :(

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

If I remember right, Akbar was fidaa on daughter of Gulbadan Begum who was married to Bairam Khan, and son of these two was famous Abdul Rheem Khan-e-Khana, who wrote Dohas in Braj, one of the basic hindi text in schoolbooks today:)

In india too, NH2, running from Delhi to Kolkata is very good, especially the stretch between Farrukhabad to Kanpur which runs parallel to railway line in UP:)

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

:cb: while referring to Humayun and his affairs with women and Humayun nama by Gulbadan Begum ( a woman), I wrote her wife and Babloo caught it.

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

These all people have major impact on Akbar's life. Akbar's relationship with Rajputs may also be connected with the relationship of Humayun with Rajputs. Who was the Rajput woman who made Humayun her Rakhi bund bhai?

Re: The Unlucky Humayun

Queen of strongest Rajput state, mewar, wife of Rana Sanga and Grandmother of Rana Pratap. While JodhaBai was from Aamer near Jaipur:). Akbar used to call Gangajal, amrit and used to have GangaJal in the morning as well:)
