Re: The “stylish” hijab
I personally feel that ‘hijab’/‘abaya’ is the next stage of islamic dressing where we have to cover the ‘satr’. Like niksik mentioned how the ‘old-fashioned hijabi’ said the purpose of hijab/abaya is to avoid attracting attention, I feel ‘stylish’ and colourful ones or even make-up,etc are a part of adornments which is what according to hadith/ayahs, I am not allowed to do when amongst non-mehrams. I cannot justify myself by saying that “I” am wearing all those stylish hijab, pins, etc to impress other women and not to attract men because Allah knows better who gets attracted. From my knowledge about it, I know that I am supposed to dress simply without any jazz, etc when I am not at home/amongst non-mehrams. I am not generalising or proving anyone wrong here and this is PURELY my own interpretation of islamic way of dressing for women ![]()
