Re: The Religion Of Truth
TNWB, I do understand where you are coming from, but see that sensitive status was given to them because of our ignorance or unfamiliarity to the very basic teachings of Islam. Off course there are people who would belittle you for not knowing something very basic but then there are people who would approach you in the right manner. But I think its human nature that we react vigorously if we are corrected for something that we have been doing for decades, not knowing if its right. Now the person who is telling us might not hold that attitude but we might react and be judgmental that he is being a Mullah. I believe that when when it comes to religion the ball is always in your court.
I had a similar experience with Muslim brother, who was almost 15 younger than me, we were discussing the difficulties we face during our day time salat and he mentioned the same thing you have mentioned, that if we pray Isha and Fajar it would be just like praying all night, I didn’t knew about that, then one day we were going for Jumaa prayer and he mentioned that while praying we shouldn’t move forward and backward (lehrana). Now I can simply come up with the "he-is-such-a-Mullah" thing or admit that I didn’t knew about all that and should try learning more about my religion.
Now the question is which is the easiest part? Learning more or saying that "he-is-such-a-Mullah".
May Allah guide us all.
