Entirely true. I wonder if the above factor (side-entertainent) came into the picture when England team visited. Certainly had large numbers of crowd in almost every corner of the stadium. Maybe it was because of the "English" team (since every Tom, Dick and Harry there is trying to learn the accent), rather than "Indian". It is common for such 'fashion styles' to run rampant in Pakistan.
