I agree with you very much and it's hard to swallow that there's not a single Pakistani player in the top ten list. You are very right that the top 3 places deserve to go to "awesome" performers like Ponting and his teammates who on a # of occasions have proved unbeatable.
I'm still not sure about the WC 07 but Aus (Atleast for me) is still the most favorite contender followed by SA, Pakistan and then India. But you never know, ICC champions trophy in the fall 06 would also be crucial in determining who's gonna rule before the WC. Let's hope Pak can reconcile and their batting and fielding could come back once again on the top to achieve what's the ultimate goal of a captain to win the WC and I'm sure that Inzi and his "boyzz" are looking forward to it.
Taking no credit away from India, Yuvraj, Dhoni and Dravid; well they deserve to be their simply bcz. of their superb wins in Pakistan..
