yep kinda like that, but thay had bought him, because in the 60's it was the "cool" thing to do:D but he got wayy too big for them and then they took him to africa!!

i think they kinda messed up things
since a lion which is raised by people, was fed everything etc and never had to work for his prey like a real loin.
so when they took him to africa, he's starving to death there and has no idea how to hunt for food.
and other loins they live in groups

No no, they didn't just let him go in the wild and live on his own, he was put in a camp for a 2years with another orphan lion(Bob, i think that was his name) who was much bigger and ready for the wild and the point was to make them become best friends and for Christian to learn how to hunt from him! So he did learn, and after two years they just left own their own and would come back after months just to visit((soo cuteee))
