and maybe you need to look for some other threads in the Feedback forum as well since they have Cafe standard replies in em too. Thanks.

simple answer is that as smileys are introduced its not just for the benefit of the existing members but also for new members who dont know the previous order, if they are thus reordered alphabeticaly it just makes it easy for everyone. Yes I may cause some issues for people who are used to seeing smileys in a certain order, but that is the most sensible way to do things.
