i remember all the cartoons, loved camp candy and ninja turtle in urdu. followed by some sitcom like agent-X lol etc or some other like the flash or A-team, manimal, auto man and and and
they used to air hollywood movies on eids etc
and then suddenly NTM disappeared after the collapse of benazir govt.
80's aur 90's ka pakistan aaj ke pakistan say kitna mukhtalif tha...
although NTM was a private channel but their dramas were at par with PTV... Chand Girhan , Kashkol, and Dasht were extremely popular . people used to find chand girhan too bold compared to PTV dramas(PTV had a strict dupatta policy).
nadia started her career from NTM daak time .

they used to do a sunday morning show from SOZO lahore :D
aray yaar kya yaad kara diya....stn/ntm koi bhala bhoolney wali cheez hai.....btw i think it came in 90z???? no???? so reminds me of 90z wala pak....yeah still remember that they used to show cnn all the time...and i used to hate it coz news samajh main nahi ati thi, politics se koi khaas lagao nahi tha aur shayad itni taiz english bhi kabhi us time boli/suni nahi thi, lolz.....sirf stn aur ptv hota tha with quality work.....yeah they started showing 3 hours of cartoon network (tnt) which went down to 2 hours on some monther's complaint...those cartoons in urdu were great like denvor the last dinosaur, camp candy (meena ke saath-though used to come on ptv)....and shows/dramas like video junction, music channel charts, nangay paaon, andhere dareechay, ashiyaana, pase aaina, mystery theatre, family front, hip hip hurray, lollywood top ten (cant exactly recall the name and i think it was hosted by nadia khan)....and i cannot forget the man who introduced concept of musical telefilms MR YASIR AKHTER (singer (arid zone, actor, producer, director)...those were called tapal telefilms and they showed telefilms like rahain which featured the song chandni tu mere sur ki roshni), zeher (saathi mujhe milgaya) kashish (zara man ko dekhna), titli....and he is the one who introduced humayon seed, javeria abbassi, ali afzal, shamoon abbassi-though humayon had already done some other dramas before telefilm zeher but this telefilm gave him a lot of recognition and even an award. and i cant forget how they used to show those nostalgic lovely ads of stillmans, olivia, samsol etc etc....no channel can take ntm's place...i literally wish that they start ntm/stn again to show all those progs ya kisi doosre channel pe hi stn ke saare progs dikha dain.

kyon kuch ghalat ker diya hai? purani yaadain mention ker ke kahin zakhmon pe namak toh nahi charak diya maine tumhare???...coz mere zakhmon pe namak charka ja chuka hai is thread ki wajah se :(

and i forgot to mention mr j (it was either on stn or ptv) starring shabbir jan as the agent who used to solve cases
can’t be Seema Rizvi. because this girl was not in any Vital Signs video. she was only in that Ali Haider Eid play “Chand Sa Mukhra” and that NTM black and white play. she was a little chubby and incredibly beautiful. these plays were aired around 1997. VS were practically done by then.
btw, do you know who was the girl in Vital Signs’ video “Hum Rahay Raahi”… this girl is gorgeous…

NADAN NADIA was directed by Mohsin Ali with Babra Sharif, Khayyam Sarhadi's brother and Zhalay's father--Bilal Sarhadi and I think Hameed Wyne.
It didn't fly....and Hasina was shocked!

couldn’t agree more - with everyone :k:
NTM / STN was the best thing that ever happened to the entertainment industry in Pakistan. It gave a really tough time to PTV and I think that was just about the time when PTV started on its downward spiral - The quality of PTV programs just disappeared , one of the reasons could be that quite a few actors / directors etc. switched to NTM (better money I guess)

NTM/STN the best thing about the 90s. :) Camp Candy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Cartoon Network from 3-7 with Jonny Quest, The Mask and Captain Planet ..my favorites
and as for the comedy time and they used to show

Street Hawks
Miami Vice
and the dramas like Aashiyana, Kashkol, Andhere Dareeche, Dasht. :)
and then they had this coca cola saturday movies ..where they showed all the good movies
And then the Amazing stories on sat at 9 30 and Mystery Theatre (remember the one with the girl who kept singing when you are happy and you know it :P)

Mera Ghar Ek whirlpool was also run on STN? if am not wrong ? And Tum se Kehna tha starring Marina Khan and Ali Haider
