Google,
Pls quote the verses from HQ and hadiths re the above people.

Are these people EQUAL under Islamic Laws with the muslim?

If they are not then the terms are RACIST regardless of how you may choose to defend the religion "sent as a mercy to mankind"!!

Why don’t you ask the Author of the Holy Quran why HE chooses to use those term?

Hafeez123

When you live in a certain country, you must abide by the laws laid down by statute. Whether they be on a Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish etc etc basis. The fact still remains that these laws are derived from some source.

When you are employed in a certain environment, you must abide by the rules of that Organisation.

When you study, you must abide by the rules of the educational establishment and so forth. I'm sure you get my drift.

Threfore, following Islam has certain rules and regulations. IF unfortunately for some reason you cannot agree to them, then Islam is not for you. It's as simple as that.

There is no such thing as UNLIMITED Choice, which I think is what you are striving for.

Everything on this earth has a limit somewhere along the line.

One thing is for sure. If you take the time and effort to do a comparative study between religions and non-religions alike, you will see exactly why Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. And I mean study with an unbiased and open mind!

The arguments you put forward concerning Women and equality, leaving Islam, choosing certains friends etc etc, carry absolutely no weight.

If you had taken time out and studied the Qur'aan, you would have all the answers to your concerns. (and please don't state you have, unless you are willing to give specifice examples of your understanding of the ayats including the Synopsis of Contents)

The 'dogma' as you have mentioned, that I follow is very well suited for me and my family. I have no objections or second thoughts in anything the Qur'aan states.

Why?

Because it all makes sense!

Peace.

sholay,

Corrct - we are all subjected to laws!

HOWEVER, no one can subject the others to discriminatory laws that essentially says :
"If you do not follow, we will kill you";
unless, they are some demented Cult!
Is Islam a Cult?

Exactly the point I make above re: Discriminatory Laws;
Here is Allah & his laws telling women:

  • If you do not follow or serve & please your husbands, you will go to hell where majority are women;

or,
in the case of apostates :

  • " Leave Islam and we will kill you"

And, sholay is saying - "such arguements carry absolutely no weight"

And,

*"The 'dogma' as you have mentioned, that I follow is very well suited for me and my family. I have no objections or second thoughts in anything the Qur'aan states.

Sholay,
I wish you good luck in your tableegh for this Cult and pls consider this my last post!

Desertion, which is essentially what apostasy is, has been punishable by death for countless centuries. Even modern day societies have - or had - desertion laws that required army deserters to be put to death. No one ever speaks out against this. Apparently it's fine to deny God and desert one's faith, that can be excused, but deny your country - unforgivable!

The US army served the death penalty on deserters. At one time the Articles of War for the Royal Marines read: "All Marine Officers and Marines, who having received Pay, or having duly enlisted in the service, shall be convicted of having deserted the same, **shall suffer Death, or such other Punishment as by a Court-martial shall be inflicted."

So death for the deserter was an accepted option.

The Roman Army had long since practiced similar desertion laws. A Christian version of the Military Oath at that time described by the historian Vegetius says: "They swear by God, by Christ and by the Holy Spirit; and by the majesty of the emperor, which, next to God, should be loved and worshipped by the human race... The soldiers swear to perform with enthusiasm whatever the emperor commands, **never to desert, and not to shrink from death on behalf of the Roman state." The historian Polybius reports that the Roman army punished with death not only things such as desertion but also far more minor matters.

And often the deserter had little or no recourse to any authority to challenge the death penalty. Unlike Islam, which allows the deserter a period of time within which to reconsider their actions and decisions. And even then the penalty is only meted out to those who have freely accepted the faith, being fully aware of its desertion law (as has already been mentioned elsewhere on these boards i believe), but still choose to apostate. If someone is unaware of this law or misunderstands it then as in all things they have the excuse of ignorance and, to the best of my knowledge, are treated accordingly. Finally, apostasy is to be handled only within the contexts of an Islamic state and by qualified Islamic jurists. It is not for reckless individuals to go about pronouncing others as apostates and calling for their death. Perhaps someone can provide further details on this.

And Allah knows best.

I know the above was your last post, but I need to correct one last point of yours.

Just for the record, a Cult is a religious worship including ceremonies, devotion or homage to a PERSON and is MANMADE!

It is not Muslims who follow a Cult, because we do not worship Humans or Idols. The word CULT, which is a derivative of CULTURE, is more appropriate for the likes of you.

Not a personal attack, but factual.

Peace.
