Hafeez123
When you live in a certain country, you must abide by the laws laid down by statute. Whether they be on a Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish etc etc basis. The fact still remains that these laws are derived from some source.
When you are employed in a certain environment, you must abide by the rules of that Organisation.
When you study, you must abide by the rules of the educational establishment and so forth. I'm sure you get my drift.
Threfore, following Islam has certain rules and regulations. IF unfortunately for some reason you cannot agree to them, then Islam is not for you. It's as simple as that.
There is no such thing as UNLIMITED Choice, which I think is what you are striving for.
Everything on this earth has a limit somewhere along the line.
One thing is for sure. If you take the time and effort to do a comparative study between religions and non-religions alike, you will see exactly why Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. And I mean study with an unbiased and open mind!
The arguments you put forward concerning Women and equality, leaving Islam, choosing certains friends etc etc, carry absolutely no weight.
If you had taken time out and studied the Qur'aan, you would have all the answers to your concerns. (and please don't state you have, unless you are willing to give specifice examples of your understanding of the ayats including the Synopsis of Contents)
The 'dogma' as you have mentioned, that I follow is very well suited for me and my family. I have no objections or second thoughts in anything the Qur'aan states.
Why?
Because it all makes sense!
Peace.
