Is he Taliban Lite or liberal confused? A sort of Pakistani Born Confused Desi. I don’t think he shares the views of the Taliban but having indulged in the culture of the West, living the life of a self proclaimed “brown sahib”, he is now hypersensitive to the plight of the religious and the supposedly patriotic. Ironically, he is, in my opinion, behaving exactly like the confused youth that religious groups recruit, the ones whose identities are challenged when their adoptive peers in the West clash with their heritage and fellow Pakistanis.

Zaatiyat pay baat jaati hai but I think it has lot to do with imran’s playboy past and the marriage to jemima. Part of it might be imran’s turn towards “islam” in our right wing contest and part of it might be that Imran doesn’t really want to take on Jamat as well considering diesel and N-league already called him yahood lobby etc.

Remember, Imran is not as brave as he claims himself to be. He himself admitted that he coldn’t criticize taliban because they would kill his party members. In his case, I hope for the best but I won’t sweat it if he turns out to be another failure. P

akistan has yet to produce a game changing leader in the current times. All we did was produce a bhutto who got wasted on power trips and feudalism. Perhaps, it tells something about the Pakistani society?
