The Leopard and the Fox (The Bhutto-Zia conflict)

Re: The Leopard and the Fox (The Bhutto-Zia conflict)

Agreed. He was the original dramabaaz.
And man I am not a fan of Bhutto or any politician or any General for that matter. To me they are all chips of the same (corrupt) block/establishment. But the guy was a genius (educated at Oxford and Berkeley) and could have done a great deal for Pakistan, if only he had channelled his intelligence in the right way. Nevertheless one must give him credit for having the wisdom and the commonsense to initiate Pakistan's nuclear programme in 1971. Whether we like it or not the PPP is the only political party in the country that has solid support at grass roots level and every establishment knows that.

The only politicians/leaders I have ever admired are Jinnah (need I say more) and Liaquat Ali Khan (the first PM of Pakistan). Does anyone here realise that when Liaquat was assassinated his poor widow did not even have a house of her own ? - it's unthinkable now. They were truly sincere and honest politicians, men of integrity, unhein mulk ka dard tha

And look at Musharraf and his cronies, the way they are running Government. Rs 1 billion was spent on the President and PM's foreign trips in the last year alone! And when Leghari was the President, he flew a whole entourage to the US (all at government's expenses ofcourse) just to attend the graduation ceremony of his beloved son at some American University.

yeh aajkal keh nawabzade aur un keh yeh nakhre. Sadly jab tak aise khaleefah humaari establishment mein rahenge yeh mulk buss aise hee chalta rahe gaa :)
