Credit goes to MR for exposing gentry of Pakistan, including army and judiciary. It is sad when highest judicial institution is involved in this mess and corruption, I wonder how the lower courts would be dealing with the common people of Pakistan.
whats your beef with 'middle class'? why drag'em here? So you are saying Malik Riaz is an angel and rest of Pakistan is corrupt?

Aren't sahafi are BA pass middul class? If they live honest lives, they can only afford two times meals living in rented apartments. But they millions in their bank accounts, driving Mercedes, living in palaces and free plots in most expensive areas of Islamabad. They get all this loot because they have skills to black mail any one including government, politicians etc, which has noting to do with their education. Isn't it?
Yes credit goes to Malik Riaz for exposing shurafa-e Pakistan, that how they are corrupt to core of their bloody hearts.

That would be 1970s opinion, even may be 1990s, but with explosion of media outlets salaries have changed though not enough to make them 'Mercedes' rich.

and isn't it he the one giving them the same money he is exposing, now would that not be a 'blackmail' :)
While I would normally agree with most of what you say, but man, the reality is very different. Keep the glossy basturds out, the ones that “grace” our TV screens day in and day out. But the rest of them can’t even be classified as middle class. Some barely make Rs. 15,000 a month, others are not paid for months on end. Yes, there are people who make Rs. 50,000 or even more in journalism, and they can be called middle class.
Islamabad press club for example has 1500 members, almost 90% of them are still on bikes and can’t afford a car. Just an example, I know, but still the reality is that Pakistan has a lot of everything - and this includes people and manpower too. This abundance means that salaries still are stuck at levels that just about puts food on the table. Rest is luxury for these journalists.
But if you do go big, like most of the corrupt anchors (well, I don’t like to categorize anchors and columnists as journalists, truth be told), then yes, you can make some big dough by blackmailing everything left and right. Plus you also get power connections that can make you instantly rich.
If you have seen Kamran Khan ,Twisting the words in favor of MALIK Riaz .
He is doing same on every issue since decades

i dont know if its a rumor or not, but this news was leaked that Sana Bucha, Javed Chaudary, Najam Sethi, Kamran Khan and Nusrat Javed were given plots and funds.

LAHORE: ****By the looks of it, the judiciary and Pakistan’s largest land developer are not the only ones whose reputations are on the line in the case involving alleged money received by the chief justice’s son.
**A mysterious list has been distributed on the premises of Punjab Assembly which put forward some explosive allegations – containing the names of some eight prominent journalists that allegedly received money, plots and other facilities overseas from real estate tycoon Malik Raiz.
While it is still unclear who distributed this one-page photocopied list, it has generated immense interest among intelligence agencies, sources familiar with the development said.
The list is mired in mystery given that its distributor disappeared off the scene soon after giving the list to some reporters at the Punjab Assembly. **The paper reads: “The following list was leaked from Malik Riaz’s office and it contains the list of anchors and journalists who received funds.”
**
According to this list, out of the eight journalists, as many as four anchors/columnists belong to only one media group.
**The journalist listed atop this list received some Rs28.5 million in three installments through National Bank of Pakistan including a luxury car (a Mercedes Benz).
**
While no one immediately verified – or denied – the contents of the list when contacted, there was immense interest generated by the issue. While the case remains in court, the buzz around the alleged involvement of some members of the media industry has generated as much interest as the involvement of the principal players themselves.

Ab har kisi key paas tau sarkari naukri nahee hoti na. They have to resort to other means to get public money in their hands, through elected representatives and appointed public servants. When people see who the president is friends with, they would want a slice too.

Controversy brings land price downISLAMABAD, June 12: As the controversy involving real estate tycoon Malik Riaz and Dr Arsalan Iftikhar took new turn on Tuesday, the cost of plots in almost all Bahria Town (BT) projects in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad has declined by over 20 per cent.
Owners of the plots and real estate dealers while talking to Dawn said the Supreme Court’s suo motu notice in the case had sent a wave of unrest among hundreds of owners bringing the sale and purchase of the plots in its new schemes to a halt.
The projects that hit by the controversy included Bahria Enclave in Zone IV, Islamabad and its phases No-7, 8 and 9 in Rawalpindi.
“Bahria Enclave has been the worst affected,” said a real estate developer Shafiqur Rehman.
He said the price of 1 kanal (500 sq yard) plot there has declined to Rs4 million to Rs4.2 million against its previous price of Rs6 million before the crisis.
Similarly, the price of 10 marla (250 sq yard) plot in the same scheme has dropped to Rs2 million to Rs2.2 million against its previous price of Rs3 million.
The present price of 5 marla (125 sq yard) in the scheme is said to be Rs0.8 million to Rs1 million against its previous rate of Rs1.5 million.
Another property dealer Malik Asad said the management of BT had stopped sale of its apartment in Bahria Enclave due to poor response of buyers. “Not a single apartment has been booked since the crisis surfaced,” he said.
Sources in the Capital Development Authority (CDA) said the prices of plots in Bahria Enclave would further decline because some of the ‘victims’ of alleged land grabbing had moved the apex court.
Another real estate builder Rao Arif said the crisis would further affect real estate market not in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but in the whole country.
Some of plots owners in BT schemes in Rawalpindi told Dawn that the cost of their plot had declined by Rs0.5 million within last two to three days.
“I purchased a plot in Bahria Town phase-7 last year at a cost of Rs3.5 million but now its rate has com down to Rs2.5 million to Rs3 million,” said Dabir Ali, an owner of a 10 marla plot.
He said he wanted to sell his plot because he urgently needed money but there was no buyer in the market.
A property dealer in BT Rawalpindi Malik Haseeb said the price of the property in the schemes would further decline as many people whose lands were allegedly grabbed by Malik Riaz would go to the court one by one which would affect the BT schemes.
Malik Riaz's strength and weakness seem to be the same thing -MONEY. SC needs to hit him where it will hurt him the most.
Surely it is better for society for many small landowners to get a fair share from their land, rather than one man to buy it for peanuts from others and to make a huge fortune out of it, and then to use it to manipulate the state, to get undue power from it, and also to ship it out of the country. It will also be better for society for people that have bought files from BT to be given their plots on time, rather than to have it used by Mr Malik for other purposes in an attempt to make more money out of it for himself, and indulging in bribing or buying other people, while they are still kept waiting for their plots.

According to Lt. Col. (retired) M Tariq Kamal, former director engineering DHA Islamabad,
( 0300-8542971 – Res: 051-5152157), resident of 10-C, Tariq Lane, Tulsa Raod, Lalazar, Rawalpindi, Defence Housing Authority Islamabad (DHAI) and Bahria Town have deprived 150,000 people of their hard-earned Rs 62 billion.
All the concerned authorities have decided to ignore this blatant breach of public trust, he said.
Colonel says that DHAI has been receiving money in the name of allotment of plots in DHA Phase I Extension, DHA Phase II Extension and DHA Valley since a decade but what masses get in return is assurances and hollow promises.
Those who deposited money for plots considering it purely DHAI projects were deliberately kept in dark about the agreements between that DHAI and Bahria Town regarding land development.
Similarly, few would know that following the controversial agreements, DHAI silently transferred all the funds raised from public amounting to Rs 62 billion to the account of Bahria Town CEO Malik Riaz.
Those who got cheated include 110,000 civilians, 41,000 serving and retired military officers, jawans and families of martyrs. Total land in question is 165,000 kanals.
Elaborating, he said that few years back DHAI and Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz inked controversial agreements according to which the later was entrusted to develop all the 175,000 kanal land owned by DHAI. Malik Riaz started development activity on 10,000 kanals. As the development process kicked off, the DHAI bosses transferred Rs 62 billion into the account of Malik Riaz without any guarantee and against the advice of DHAI legal advisors Ahmer Bilal Soofi & Co.
Those DHAI employees who objected to the illegal steps were sacked immediately.
After some time, Mr. Riaz stopped development process and started using the money of DHAI members to fulfil his personal ambitions. According to the agreements DHAI is unable to take any decision or action while Mr. Riaz continues to delay development leaving millions of people worried and insecure.
Col. (R) Tariq said that reasons for the unusual favour are still not known but it merits an investigation to ascertain as to why top officials misused authority and compromised DHAI reputation to benefit a property tycoon widely known for land grabbing.
Similarly, the applicants were deliberately kept unaware about the partnership of DHAI with Malik Riaz in the business otherwise the response of masses could have been different.
He said that Mr Riaz is not honouring agreements thus damaging GHAI reputation and causing a huge financial loss.
According to Clause 23 of Ordinance No LIII, 2009, all the serving or retired army officers serving in DHA would be considered public servants (civilians).
However, the Central and Provincial Governments, NAB, FIA and police etc. would not take any concrete action against all those who have violated all laws and procedures to deprive 150,000 families of their homes. http://siyasirecords.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/nab-document.jpg?w=500 http://siyasirecords.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/fia-document.jpg?w=500 http://siyasirecords.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/application-to-police.jpg?w=500
