why did nt the mqm stop themselves? surely they have brains?
the mqm must know another way of repsonding other than violence right?
Youre right, whatever happened and whoever is to be blamed, it's the people and life of Karachi that has suffered so much and lost so much...
Meanwhile I really dont think the CJ would have been so naive as to not know what may happen in Khi when pinching the MQM, more so inspite of the MQM, Sindh Governor and the CM's advice to him to postpone his visit. If he is that naive, he's foolish. Or perhaps they all did want to draw blood intothis feud from day 1 and chose Khi and 12 May as the time and place...sick politics...

I need clarification on two counts:
1) At what point did the CJ pinch MQM and how?
2) Whose event was scheduled first, CJ's address to the bar or MQM's rally?
I have seen Ayyaz Amir on 12 May...while he was with Asma Sherazi ..both were live covering the transmission outside Sindh HC when all roads were blockedby MQM terrorists....He was almost weeping....almost...asma too was very sad...becaiuse they had coveraged teh Lahore 27 hours scenes...but it wsas totally different....
ARY **was live covering the people lying on streets of Karachi...having pools of blood around them..one was a woman*...but no Ambulances as **MQM BEASTS* have burnt down 10 Edhi Ambulances and all other companies also ran...one driver was shot down and burnt ......
Its the day of Shaitan ...dancing in Karachi...and humanity was naked...
Yes, when it was Nawaz anything was better than him.
Change the underlined proper noun with any other proper noun concerned with Pakistani politics of the past and your statement will magically fall relevant in each case.
What should we as a nation do about this in the long run...? It seems the problem lies not in the faces but somewhere far deeper...?

Yes, for the umpteenth time, what the MQM did was highly wrong and condemnable. But didn't those dealing with them (in the same manner) know the history of MQM...?

Ans 1: By *pinch *I mean;
Knowing MQM's ways, and their unfair but prior warning for a reschedule being refused.
Knowing that the MQM is often known for such tactics and show of power and control, esp being a party in govt, yet planning opposition rallies in their stronghold area, despite their advise (however unfair) for a reschedule.
Ans2: Partially answered in Ans1.
Yes, the CJ rallies and address, aswell as the tag along opposition rallies were scheduled first.
But, how does one deal with someone emphasizing brawn and authority standing at a vantage point? The correct way should have been to deal with patience and the mind, for the benefit of the people who ended up suffering, but when egos are at stake, even lives don't count. And in that all share the blame, the proportions may vary. To explain this I had used the example in some thread of a robber threatening to shoot indiscriminately if one took a step...

I can not even smile on the logic presented here. Sorry darling, we are on a very different grid.
[quote] The suspended Chief Justice could have gone and addressed the bar in Karachi without trying to lead a rally in a city, which is now notorious not just for its history of violence and terrorism, but also for its traffic jams.
