A MIL simply has to think, “what if this was my daughter” or “what if that was me”, cos she’s been through that stage.
So before she did anything negative, she would imagine her own daughter or herself in that situation with a MIL. Changes things a whole lot, imo.
A DIL has to do the same… “what if this was my own mother”…

I think it helps a lot.
