Do the one thing that is in your grasp. Get involved locally in Islamic "Social" activities. Beyond that....you are wishing.

I am going to tell you what I am going to do: I have just learned that there is a local Muslim women's shelter. I am going to start donating to them; I will go to them to see if I can contribut in other manners to their setup; I will inform my family and friends about them and ask for dry food, clothes, and monetary donations.
Do you think I would be wrong in doing the above? Do you think you could do the same thing in your neighborhood? This is just one small, tiny step in the right direction.
For those of you who have friends or family in masaajids, ask to have an open house and advertise in local media. I have, VERY SELDOMLY, seen this happen and I don't know why. Normally, the masaajid are run by closely knit group of people so, for the most part, this would be difficult to suggest something like this.
Musalman: Jazakallah for your post, I did read it in full.
You have said that the khilafah is NOT the only aspect of Islam and that we have to consider everything else as well? Right?
Do you agree then, that Pleasing Allah is our goal?
If that is our goal, then living by Allah's law (Shariah) should be our goal. It is not necessary to build a khilafah state to live under Allahs law.
Can I refer you to an ayat you have posted:
[23:52]
52. And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me.
Islam is one Religion, that is agreed.
Consider the following:
[49:13]
13. O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa *
Some brothers would have me believe that the only way we can make a difference in this world is by creating a Khilafah state and then fixing the problems of the muslims.
If all we can do is talk about Khilafah, how do we ever expect it to arise?
Muslims need to be prepared.. With knowledge as well as with what Allah has ordained us to do.
Islam was completed - some brothers tell me that we should look at the time before the Hijrah. Islam has already been completed:
[5:3]
..This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion...
I believe that living under Allahs law is very important, but Islam is as you said, A way of life. Therefore, there is so much more that we can do as muslims.
I hope inshallah that you agree that the Khilafah state is not the be-all and end-all of Islam. Too many brothers are carrying this opinion.. way too many
Jazakallah.
P.s. Jannu: Indeed you should start with your local community, but you can also make a difference in the wider world... Allah gave us a dimag for a reason...
Jazakallah

Yes, he did. I also know that some of your duty lies in local community. There is none, at present. Anyone of you can relate your examples of how you are trying to work for the community. Let's see examples of you working in your homes before I am interested in seeing your work on the global basis.
You have got to have concerns about how your home is before you worry about the neighbor's home? Right?
Came across this article few days ago.
Cica 1996? or later;

Jannu: Work in the community is good.. but why can't you do both?
I don't think it's good to talk about the work done for the community or elsewhere.
It may sound proud and besides, what we do for the love of Allah is very personal between us and him.
Anyway, Musalman, look forward to your comments.
Jazakallah

Please define. I am in a position to, actually, do more locally then globally. I would appreciate it if you can expand on your statement. I acted to affect a Muslim issue overseas. I donated to the Mohammad Al-Durra fund. I believe that is my extent of the involvement.
To go on your statement, how about spending, say, 10% of the effort on local issues? Believe me, even that would be an awsome improvement.
