and why are there no mass protests in areas where govt is weak and MQM is non existent?
matlab those places can hoist taleban flags, but protests naheen hon gi wahan ...
Musharaf is not the only guy against taliban type....infact secularist and civil society like us do not secretly support taliban to extend their illegal tenure>>>
Come on the only way forward is to say wrong is wrong!!!! We must be united at this time, and prepare ourselves for a long struggle>>>
yeah people prolly still remember what happened back in May. You dont wanna get killed on the streets when the criminals and police are both MQM.
It's quite amazing. Every time I read something I read only criticsm for MQM. I just wonder....are they really only in Karachi as a strong hold? Almost non of Pakistanis living abroad praise these guys.
but you still did not answer the question.
why no mass protests there.
are the taleban supporters preventing ppl to go demonstrate against the govt? or are the people there content with status quo?
I am not on the ground in Pakistan and havent been back in a while. I dont know what the ground reality is there and whats in people's heart. Cant say for sure why people in Swat, Kohat, Gujar Khan etc etc are not out in the streets protesting either against emergency rule or taliban flags. But it also doesnt mean that since people have not come out to protest en masse that they are happy with status quo. That would be a faulty reasoning.
that is why shalwaar is the talebani shariah prescribed garment..the only issue there is either narra malfunction, or really string winds that wouldstick the clothes o yer body and draw attention to naughty bits
Any legislated mirrors on the Narra's. Has always been famous tradition. Fashion designers in Pakistan could start coming up with designer narra's but no silk ones ... haram.

5Abi i agree, but thats teh point are ppl unhappy enough to do something about it. I friggin hate the traffic, i despise the tollbooths in the middle of the dang highway, but not enough that I would stand with a placard in front of mayors office asking him to take note.
hardly anyone is happy with status quo anywhere in the world, but are the bothered enough to actually do something about it. that is the question, and if not it is either because they cant, its not that bad, or they dont care.
