That’s sweet BUT does he also expect a spotless house and a 3 course meal every single day, and hten adding kids to the mix…?

We are very dedicated towards our families, take unconditional care of our children and husband but in the process, overlook the most important person of all…ourselves.

Why don’t we realize that if we don’t take the effort to maintain our health we will become a nuisance rather than the martyr we think we are? Even if that is not our intention, we know very well that all hell will break loose if mom is unwell!

If our mothers did all of that, it was perhaps because they weren’t as well off as maybe we are today, so really, there’s no need to consume all the leftovers in the fridge that have lost their nutritional content instead of fixing a fresh meal. There is no harm in getting an occasional massage or joining a fitness club if you can afford it if you realize that you need to be healthy for yourself and your family who completely depends on you.

No? Husbands, do you take the time to encourage your wife to take care of herself and tell her how important she is to you, or do you just let go?

I think that’s changing now, in the past it was unheard of for a woman to take time out to care for herself, it was considered selfish b/c whatever time ure devoting to yourself its taking away from your home/family. But today it’s almost the opposite, I think women are under more pressure to look attractive, younger, and more fashionable…like heaven forbid someone say you look like a mother (when you ARE a mother).

I dont think theres anything wrong in looking good and attractive OR being healthy..but it should be for yourself/your family, not to attract others IMO.
