The Dark Knight!!!

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

I loved it, a bit scary tho. I think they could have done a better job of casting Rachel, Maggie Gyllenhal just didn't leave an impression at all.

I caught the 12:01 too --- where?

10/10 rating from me.
loved it! Would watch it again in a heart beat

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

Awesome Movie

1 - Best Movie of 2008
2 - Best Comic Book Movie Ever made
3 - Best Movie I have seen since Lord of the Rings

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

According to Christian Bale and Michael Caine the late Heath Ledger has gave the performance of his life.

Maryland :D

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

AWESOME movie. I want to go see it again on the big screen and thats very very rare!

Loved it.

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

woohoo!

I don't even have words for this movie. Since the positives are so damn obvious and unanimously agreed upon, I will focus on the very few negatives of the movie.

1) Too long.
2) The two-face plot was hurried ( but it could just be a precursor what's instore in the next installment)
3) At times lost the simplicity 'Batman Begins' was based on.
4) Slightly corny.

Gosh damn I loved it beyond anything. And yes I could watch it again and again too.

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

^ The ending (Gordon’s last words) was definitely corny. But I loved it, overall. and yeah it was long, but despite the fact I saw it in the middle of the night, I didn’t get sleepy once. In fact, I felt quite a rush afterwards and had difficulty falling asleep! (Two Face’s face kept haunting me :dixsi: )

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

Anyone seen it in iMax yet? I heard it's wicked when seen in imax. I'm going to see it this coming weekend, inshaAllah.

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

to those ppl who have seen it...

were there **any **kissing bits or dirty bits int he bit?...even the slightest, let me know coz im thinking to go with my dad...

is it watchable with parents or not?

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

i cannot wait to watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

am planning on goin when the crowd dies down. god knows when that will be but i cant wait.

There are two kissing scenes but not dirty in the slightest. One is like a tender kiss and the other is more of a reassuring, comforting kiss. But I don’t know, maybe you should just go with friends.
( and before anyone points out, I remember so much because I watched it twice! :snooty: )

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

Close your dads eye's when the kissing scenes come

lol quite some emotions u put in xplaining these … Seems like u r an expert?

btw, just watched it last night. Its awesome! Totally family movie. The dialogues, the story, the acting, the effects … its a master piece.

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

it was soooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooodddddddd!

omg omg omggggggggggg :sadiyah:

it’s justt likee :hayaa:

and yeah, two kissing scenes…but the one with batman n rachel was quite sht because i remember looking away for like 5 sec? and the one with harvey n rachel was a lil bit longer =\

but yeah! it was absolutely great!!

SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

i can’t believeeeee that rachel dies! omggggggggg, i thought he was miraculously gonna save both harvey and rachel…but alas, he doesn’t, and therefore harvey turns badddddddd…until tun tun tunnnnnnnnnnnnnn muahahahha! :dixsi:

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

*Very good movie. Ledger stole the show as was expected, but Eckhart did remarkably well in a role that lacked scope for theatrics.

SPOILERS

Best scene of the movie was, without a doubt, the joker's monologue hanging upside down but the camera showing it the other way around. He had won; the bast*rd had beaten the Batman, and even Batman knew it. Brilliant stuff from Nolan the genius.*

^ So true.

I watched it again this weekend, first time watching a movie in the theater twice.

So here we go..

Minor spoilers

I watched it yesterday

Good points
1) If anything the real heart of the movie is harvey dent and his tragic rise and fall as well as Gordons rise to the top.

2) Ledger is just stunningly twisted; the most stunning villan performance I've ever seen. He is mesmerising and repulsive at the same time, almost inhuman!

3) Michael Caine has some great scene stealing scenes.

Bad points

1) It has two cheesy bits which didn't suit the movie. Maggie Gyll was wasted.

2) The movie is almost unrelentingly dark

3) The final 30 minutes drag a bit the bits about his cover being blown and the Hong Kong adventure seemed a bit too much ..but Nolan said he wasn't making this with the intention of a sequel so I can forgive this very minor gripe.

4) Definitely NOT for kid Batman fans!

Conclusion:
This movie takes some of the best bits from several great movies it's 1 part Saw, 1 part Spiderman,1 part Heat, 1 part the inside man, 1 part Mission impossible pulled together by some brilliant performances. I'm not sure I'll watch it again on Cinema because it kept my attention so much I don't think there is anything I missed!

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

If he wasn't making this with the intention of a sequel it makes it worse dude. I am hoping for Harvey Dent's hurried up "death" to make more sense in the sequel, as in him not being dead at all.
I don't get your logic Zakk.

Nolan is lying through his teeth if denies keeping a sequel in his mind whilst he made Tdk.

Re: The Dark Knight!!!

I agree Harvey should have been kept for part 3...but i think that shows he wanted a stand alone movie. I suppose for 3 he can now add as many zeroes to the cheque as he wants!

That is assuming Bale isn't in jail !
