without having knowledge of what causes the situation of shortage of food, its very easy for every layman to just lean back and say Amreeka needs to do this instead of that and there will be no hunger in the world.
that's interesting, because I do have knowledge of whats causing a food shortage. Things like famine and disease. Money cannot get rid of these things, but what money can do is accomodate people who are suffering. I don't like to make generalized statements, or ones without evidence which is why you will often see me asking for sources on this forum.
I will give you an example of how the US is causing poverty (because it's whats on the top of my head)
Agriculture - one of western africas biggest industries.
The US subsidizes their farmers which allows for cheaper agricultural prices in the global market.
However, many west african countries do not have governments that can afford to subsidze, so goods from places such as Ghana are more expensive than the equivalent in the US. Becuase the US prices are much cheaper globally, people end up consuming more US goods than goods from Ghana because they are so much cheaper. The US is therefore one of the caustitive agents in putting people from Western Africa out of jobs, because their biggest industry does not make enough money.
This is a very simplistic description, but if you please, I can refer you to some books that explains things like this in more detail.
