0 0 18DUBAI/KARACHI: Bilawala Bhutto-Zardari, the scion of one of Pakistan’s most powerful political families, returned to Pakistan on Monday after spending almost seven months abroad amid rumours of disagreements with his father, former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had arrived at the Dubai airport where had boarded a flight to Karachi. Bilawal accompanied by his sister Bakhtawar on the private jet, landed in Karachi around 4:00PM.
Senior officials of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) told Geo News that Bilawal will start to take part in Pakistani politics soon after his return.
Bilawal’s return comes days after photos were posted on social media appearing to show that the Bhutto-Zardari family was trying to mend fences and move over past disagreements.
Rifts between the father and son have been widely reported in the Pakistan media, but the Pakistan People’s Party denies any differences between former President Asif Zardari and party chairperson Bilawal.
The PPP chairperson abruptly left Pakistan after a party rally in Karachi last November, giving rise to the speculation about his alleged falling out with his father.
Photos tweeted by PPP leader Senator Saeed Ghani last week showed the smiling faces of sister Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari and aunt Faryal Talpur posing for selfies with the young PPP chairman.

“Nice to see Chairman @BBhuttoZardari @bakhtawarBZ & @faryalTalpurPk together in Dubai,” said the PPP senator in the tweet, which was retweeted by Bakhtawar to her 0.5 million followers.
Earlier this month, Bilawalal completed his education to graduate from Oxford University with a Master Degree. He was congratulated for completing his degree by his father and sisters in messages posted on Twitter.
