Re: The biggest "draws" in world cricket
If you talk about those for whom people will want to go to the stadium to watch live, and you stick with the current lot, then I gotta say one thing: people want action. They wanna see wickets tumbling and sixes flying to all parts of the ground. Thats whats exciting to most people. For the connoisseurs of the game, Akmal-Razzaq 5th day (at Mohali '05, I think) may be worth much more, but for most ordinary cricket fans a blast, albeit brief, from Afridi or Sehwag is what they will rather pay for.
So, considering that, and based on current form, I think the biggest draws are (in no particular order)
Afridi
Sehwag
Ponting
Gilchrist
Symonds
Flintoff
Pietersen
Akhtar
Lee
And if Tendulkar plays a few good innings now to reaffirm to his fans that he still has the appetite for big hits, he'll definitely be right up there.
