^ it’snot an arabic name from all the looking and searching i’ve done… from what i’ve read its a spanish name and means “new house”. it can be pronounced EXZ-avier, or ZAY-vier but there’s no long “a” sound in it at all.

a muslim name has a nice meaning… its up to you to decide if you think “new house” is a nice meaning.

EDIT: hrm, ok, so apparently because its origin is Basque and there was heavy Arabic influence in Basque regions, there might be Arabic origins to the name after all. It says in Arabic, Xavier means “bright, splendid” which is lovely but the correct pronounciation would be something to figure out. anyone here well-versed in arabic or know someone who is? i’d look into it a lot more before naming the kid, imho, just to be certain.
