Re: The best thing I ever ate

LOL…:hehe:

Haven’t heard that one. I have, however, heard something like “Jinnay Lahore na vaikhay…onay kakh nahi vaikhya” or something like that. Good thing you vaikha’ed as well :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: The best thing I ever ate

1) chawal kheer my friend made for one of my dinners, she used macadamian, cashew, and almond butter to spruce up the tase, don't know the exact propostion of allthree she used, the stuff was amazing...yumm rice, malai, these butters, a hint of brown suger(in addition to some white sugar). She also didn't put the regualr amount of sugar because cashew and macadamian nut butter are usually bit sweet....yummy creamy not overly sweet, very satisfying..

2) ricotta cheese, almond, lemon cupcakes....yummm

3) waffles at pancake factory in norval by goergetown ON

4) triamisu at the second city TO

you can tell I have major sweet tooth :)

Re: The best thing I ever ate

A guy used to put pakora batter on one side of a naan and then fry-it..(batter side-down) and then sprinkle it with chaat-masala :hayaa:

Re: The best thing I ever ate

shawarmas from a little shack called Sam's.................nothing comes close

Re: The best thing I ever ate

The best thing I ever ate was ages ago in Geneva, Switzerland! It was this Turkish place...the place was called "Istanbul", they had the best shawarmas EVER!!!!! They use to call them kababs though...but it was like shawarma (the way of cooking the meat and slicing it that was the only thing similar to the shwarma), anyways..they would take the small naan like bread..and STUFF it with meat..honestly like STUFFFFFF it..and they had this amazing chilli paste which they would spread on the bread (it use to make me sweat and tear up), with salad in it too.

WOW....I MISS THAT!!! one of those was enough for the full day!! It was that huge...and it cost me CHF10.00 and was worth every single penny!!!!

Re: The best thing I ever ate

Man there are soooo many things I could talk about, just thinking of some of them is making me salivate:

  1. best nihari- new delhi restaurant in shindaga, dubai- its like this random, tiny place but its by far the best nihari I've had anywhere.

  2. Best shawarma- Al Mallah Dubai

  3. Best lemon chicken (chinese)- Mini Chinese restaurant on Diyafah in Dubai, don't even know if this place still exists, but when it did, it was awesome.

  4. Best lasagna- Capri Italian Grill, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai

  5. Best chocolate cake- They have this ginormous cake at the Costco's in Houston, its called the 'All American Chocolate Cake'. Its so awesome I've actually taken 2 as my hand luggage when I'm heading home to Canada... so divine.

  6. Best chole puri- Bhavna, Bur Dubai

So hungry now... and I just had dinner.

Re: The best thing I ever ate

Bump.

Best pizza ever--the canadian brand, Pizza Pizza, in Pakistan. :D

Re: The best thing I ever ate

oh they have the recipe for this somewhere on khanapakana – i think it was part of a segment ARY did on popular local eateries in the area and the owner of the place gave his recipes. i remember bookmarking the video, sometime long ago.

regarding the best thing ever ate, i’d have to say the quorma and pulao they had at this wedding i attended three or so years ago (yep, it was that good) – i have never had more buttery-soft, impeccably infused rice or a more sophisticated yet flavour-packed saalan. we made oblique references and sang praises of the catering arrangements before finally bluntly asking the hostess for the catering company’s details afterwards, but boy was she a stingy one. she didn’t give us one thing, screw her very much.

The best thing I ever ate
