I kinda agree with natural wonder. Culture is what people are doing... not what you say they are supposed to do.
Besides that last pic is not much diff then a
saari I suppose. At least it's in good taste. I've seen some really cheap stuff our models have done in pakistani magazine.

Media represents the culture of any nation. But the media of Pakistan(includs TV dramas) represents the culture of only about 0.5% of the population. We don't see girls dressed that way on the streets. Our culture is what our media wants it to be.
Can she be more naked in that last pic?

i have to disagree once again. As far as dramas are concerned, everyone will agree that they try to portray all Pakistanis. Most of the dramas deal with social issues, poverty, drugs, unemployement, honour killings. You dont just see the filthy rich and glamourous faces caked with makeup like the ones on american soap operas. Anyone who knows about Pakistani television would agree that they are very diverse and dont just represent 0.5% of the population, as u put it. If media makes culture than why arent all the Pakistani women dressing like Vaneeza? you're contradicting urself here.
Half naked models wont be allowed on Pakistani tv. Almost all the time, they're seen in high end fashion magazines like Visage.
And if you're saying that culture is what our media wants it to be, then i'd have to say i disagree. I mean, what about all those snooty, rich, beautiful, fashionable people you see on american television? Soap operas, for example. They're so incredibly fake i cant stand them. They certainly dont repersent american culture.

zafarmahmood,i think ur a little mistaken here. No one is supporting naked models here alright; in fact, most of the guppees are totally against Pakistani models wearing inappropriate clothing. Before u tell others to be shameful, try to fully understand the discussion taking place here.
