You cannot underestimate the role of international diplomacy and the role media plays in forming opinions. It was concerted effort by India in past that groups like LET were banned in Pakistan … they were called the “freedom fighters” till some time back …
In the past Pakistan used to get away with it … or just doing some window dressing (like banning LET) … was because it was a startegic partner to US in the region.
But things are changing now … voices are being raised against the jehadi elements within Pakistan now and a lot of activity is happening behind doors to get things done …
