masonic symbol.. the compass and square with teh G in the middle is the most well known and among the public symbols of freemasonry.
freeemasons (wella ctually free and acepted masons now) have been a source of great intrigue, have been blamed of having their hands in major world events, all sorts of conspiracies, and how they attract the powerful and others who could be of good use to
its a secret society, aside from its members no one knows what goes on, and even that you have to be atleast a master mason to know the lodges, the weak are weeded out at the entered apperentice level other levels before becoming a master mason, and it takes years for someone to become master mason.
I am intrigued by what people write about this group. their association with the templars..and btw hassissins as well..the shriners..etc
a good book to read up would be brothers in blood, probably the best and most objective book about masons by a non mason, not that there are many books in public domain by masons about their organization anyways.
no no no no
if u want to read a good story which has a masonic anglr to it, dont read meltzer's book of fate..it rally just has masonic undertones..i wont tel u details but if u are reading the book because masons intrigue u, u will be disappointed, if u just want to read a good political mystery and thriller it is an excellent book.
read the other one, the last templar..khouri seemed to be in a hurry and i knew how he would end it, and was not pleased with how he ended it but teh conclusion..which happened before teh story ended was fantastic..and btw from what I know, closer to the truth than any other books out there with masonic angles to them.
I am fascinated, especially at the templars’ misfortune after the ultimate failure of the crusades and the french inquest of them later on.. If i get time, i’ll read the book. Now, I remember there is a way you can bookmark threads?
Has anyone read it?
I saw it at Borders and thought it looked interesting. I read the first few lines and it didn't seem like really great literature or anything, but I still want to read it.
currently reading The Last Mughal by William Darymple (sp?). So far a really interesting book. Less about Shah Zafar and more about the situation in Delhi that lead to the downfall of the Mughal dynasty. He's also drawing parallels between the jihad movement now and then, and the reasons behind why it occurred.
William Dalrymple ! i bought it couple of months ago will start reading it soon ! I purchased it as i wanted to read about Indian mutiny and its aftermath . Plus i like his ’ from the Holy Mountain’ in bits. so i hope it gona be a good read !
-False Self: The Life of Masud Khan
Very interesting book about, Tall, handsome, rich and eccentric, Masud Khan (1924–1989) was a striking figure in London psychoanalytic circles during the 1960s and '70s. The Muslim Punjabi was, Hopkins says, the "principal disciple" of the great British psychoanalyst D.W. Winnicott. "The two men were a study in contrasts," writes Hopkins, a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. She intricately dissects their father-son/analyst-analysand relationship, showing how Winnicott may have failed to address the pathological traits that ultimately destroyed his protégé. Khan flourished in London for many years, socially, personally and professionally, gaining an international reputation as a psychoanalytic theorist.
