you are right.. Religions do tell you that. But DEEN does not.

In Islam, we have proofs. Every bit of Islam is in Black and white and you can verify about the authenticity yourself.

Whatever picture you have mentioned above, if that is your understanding of Islam, then you only know about Islam as much as you saw some person calling himself and practicing it and calling it Islam while it is not. Yes, while it is NOT. I can guarantee that you have not tried to learn and read the actual history of Islam and the Seerah of Prophet:saw:

And if you have not, it’s about time you should, for as a fellows brother, I and many others can provide you with the details what Islam actually is and I’m sure IF & only IF ALLAH WILLS, every one of us can get guidance. Aameen.

Allah is an Image created in our minds by society and our parents, then culture, then fear, i guess organized religion such as islam (and others) is important to control the masses, All organized religions do is put fear of consequences (such as hell) in our minds so that we can follow them blindly.

Actually, it is not to control the masses. It is to live in a harmonious community.

Religions are also full of hate, i.e. follow our sect or you will go to eternal hell, you cannot question religion because its forbidden, you must have blind faith and follow what you are told etc. our religion is better then yours and we will fight you for it.

blind faith? I have been studying as many religions as I can , including Athiesm to proof to myself that Islam was the true religion.

Take religion out of the equation and we will be living in a society where people will be judged on what they have accomplished or how rich and powerful they are rather then how long there beards are or how many time they pray in a day. but the choke hold of religion is amazing in our society. i hope and wish that one day we can all see and realize the wrongs that religions of the world have done.

I must agree with Anwaar Qureshi. It is not the belief that is affecting the world but the people who use religion as a means to do other things. Let’s look at September 11th. I have heard a string of arguments from most people.

1. it was Islams fault

me: no it wasn’t. all the Quranic verses were poorly interpretated, as were the hadith that the terrorists used as justification.

2. (my favourite argument that is used) oh but if Islam didn’t exist, then there wouldn’t be a Quranic verse to misread. See! It is all Islams fault

me: if Islam wasn’t there, these people would have found another way to justify their attacks. you can look at many attacks all around the world that are falsely justified. Some use power as an excuse, some use safety, some use religion. Religion is not the problem. In fact, when followed properly, it is the solution.

Islam demands a person to have complete faith in existance of Allah…
