Teaching Urdu to your kids

We should all be able to speak, read and write the following languages fluently.

1) Urdu (our national language)
2) Our mother/regional tongue (Punjabi, Pashto etc.)
3) Arabic (the language of our religion)
4) English (lingua franca of the world and the language of our place of residence)

Not sure if I'll be teaching my kids urdu as I'll have to learn it properly myself. But I do speak to my son in pastho and farsi at home in a futile attempt to coounterbalance all the english language he inevitably gets exposed to each day. Fingers crossed that some of it sinks in.
