Note from Admin: Please mind the way you talk to people. Not everyone knows everything. Even if it seems very simple to you.

Do you know why people shower before swimming (in the pool)? To remove everything that can contaminate the pool. Women are advised not to wear any scent/perfume.

I don’t understand why a woman would wish to wear a tampon or pad in the pool when it is biological impossible for her to menstruate in the pool.

Because Kelly Shanahan, M.D, Chair of the OB-GYN department at Barton Memorial Hospital in Lake Tahoe, says that "*Menstrual bleeding does not stop in water. The best thing to do to be able to continue swimming while on your period is to use a tampon. This is very effective at preventing leakage of blood – just put a fresh tampon in before you get into the pool and change it after you get out.
