This is obviously what most Pakistanis want. They rose up against a government which was bringing hopes for Pakistan's future and prosperity to the people. Threw him out. Declared him a traitor. Brought democracy's revenge in the form of Zardari. And now this revenge is in full swing with Nawaza league in power. Looking at this slope of "progress", I think the next obvious step is the government by Taliban and/or Taliban Khan.
I also liked Musharraf. I thought he was good from 1999 till about 2002-3 but let's not over-exaggerate. It was downhill thereafter due to a series of blunders committed by him
We are still paying the price for some of his big mistakes principally NRO (which invalidated the very reasons for his coup of 1999), sending troops into FATA, giving MQM a free hand in Karachi (was almost dead and buried in the 90s) etc. Attack on judiciary was also wrong although I do believe that CJ Ifti is a shady character
However I support his stance on Lal Masjid and Bugti. Freedom of media was his biggest gift to the nation

Not only is the style same but the mindset is still the same as well.
His victory speech in 1992 world cup was all “I, me, myself”. Still the same haughtiness.
