untimely not from my point of view but from the surviving family point of view (logistics, not emotional) ..
Like when my father passed away, that was very sudden, I talked to him to in the afternoon and late night I got the news that he died. Now that was shock but our of four siblings, my sister was married and I was in USA, already working. So at least half of the family was taken care of.
Unlike this, when one of our close uncle passed away, his kids were only 12 and 8 .. that is what I called untimely
