And of course the US has no intention of setting a date for ending the war in Afghanistan, with Pentagon officials openly dismissing the “end of 2014″ deadline set by NATO as unrealistic and President Karzai confirming talks for “permanent” US bases. That is a large part of why, ten years in, the war is still going on, with three more NATO soldiers slain today.

Isn’t it just confirmation of what we believe anyways?

When the official Taliban spokesperson makes such a comment I will believe it. The Taliban are not to be trusted and negotiating with them will only make the life of the Average Afghan worse off than 10 years ago. These negotiations are a bad idea. You are basically saying for 10 years you fought the same group. Couldn’t defeat them and now because you are losing the war you wish to negotiate.

I was under impression you were against this war, why not negotiate?
